Designing and etc.
Whew. It's been forever and a day since I've been able to sit down and blog. And honestly, I technically would like to be reading, but I just started a new book and I'm waiting for my banana bread to finish baking, and it drives me crazy to be interrupted just when I start getting into a story... so I figured I'd blog. (If that's not a run-on sentence, I don't know what is!)

I am feeling majorly pregnant lately. It's finally dawning on me that I need to be preparing for this little guy to arrive. I get so caught up in every day life that I forget that there are things that need to be done for him. I haven't had my baby showers yet, so I can't get about organizing and washing his clothes (my favorite part!), but I do need to get his little moses basket ready and figure out final plans for when I do go into labor.

I've been told SEVERAL times lately that I look like I'm going to deliver twins. Gee, thanks folks. I think that's because a lot of thise pregnancy is in my belly. I mean, I know that sounds like a "Duh!" statement, but seriously folks. It looks like a rocket's going to blast off from there or something.

We made reservations to take a tour of the hospital, and we are bringing Emerson with us. I will definitely be taking pics. It's so hard for me to grasp the fact that she is going to be a big sister. I want to make her a little onesie using the Heidi Swapp stamps and fabric paint that says "Big Sis." :)

We've also realized that we can go ahead and start looking for a house, and I'm so freaking excited. We met with our realtor for the first time this past Friday, and our next task is to get pre-approved for financing. I'm nervous about that part, but can't wait to get over it so we can start looking at homes! I may finally have one of my dreams come true: a "library/scraproom."

This weekend was the Inspiration Team Retreat for Scrap Etc. It was sooooo much fun. Monique- the hippest scrap store owner ever ;) - had us STOCKED UP on supplies. It was almost too much for me to deal with to create. I mean, can I say Heidi Swapp stuff galore?! I did a lot of altering this weekend. I felt like I was in the Elsie Flannigan mode for some of the things I was doing. Bright colors, lots of flowers & rick rack and doodling. Kind of different for me, but the way I was feeling. I think the gloomy weather was off-setting that and I needed something bright and cheerful.

Our stuff should be posted on our personal galleries on the Scrap Etc. site soon, so check it out. (Oh, and by the way- I'm really not that fat. Just think, "Pregnancy. Swelling. Virginia has a nice skinny face normally.") ;)

And I must say, there are some sweet chicas on the IT. You gals, if you are stalking me, I had a lot of fun creating with y'all this weekend! You inspire ME! :)

cool quote
brought to my attention by someone very cool. :)

"Whoever interrupts the conversation of others to make a display
of their fund of knowledge,
makes notorious their own stock of ignorance."

a gypsy said.
Today I am shopping in Walmart with my friend Stephanie and accompanied by, of course, Emerson. I am standing with my very rotund belly, looking at the earrings, when from around the corner comes a short, round man. He is balding, has the remaining hair on his head cut in a buzz cut style, and has what looks to be the beginnings of handlebar mustache.

"You're having a boy!" he quickly proclaims, as if in a hurry.

Surprised at his sudden proclamation, I replied, "That's what a lot of people have told me."

Then, after pausing for a moment, he says, "Well, I haven't been wrong in 15 years. I shop in this section of Walmart every day; I'm a gypsy. If you have a girl, find me, and I'll pay you $2,000."

I ask, "How can you tell it's a boy?"

He says, "It's your feet." (Which I have encased in my platform Volcom black sneakers.")

"Um, thanks." says I.

1. My feet?! What the heck?

2. A GYPSY?! Double what the heck!

3. A gypsy that shops in the same section (the jewelry section?!) of Walmart every day? I thought gypsies were, like, nomads. Don't they travel around in brightly covered tents, with their fortune telling glass balls and flame-throwers?

4. Maybe I'll dress Atticus in a lot of pink and hang out in the jewelry section so I can pick up my $2,000.

First Inspiration Team Project!

I stayed up late last night with a burst of creativity and put together my first Inspiration Team project for Scrap Etc.!

I used a new Making Memories kit to alter a board book and make a mini-album of my fave pics of Emerson from her first few weeks of life...

Here's a teaser pic- check out the rest here!

Bad blogger, bad!

I've been a bad blogger (oops, almost wrote BLOOGER. Hee hee) lately. And to make matters worse, I only have like 5 seconds to update because I really wanted to get my 1 million loads of laundry folded before Shaun gets home from work, so Iprobably should get off of here pretty fast.

A quick highlight of my week:

-Finally went postal with my Hall of Fame entry! Wahoo. Out of sight, out of mind. Well, kinda. (And the week of March 15, I will be insane with waiting to hear!)

-Visited with the in-laws, got a "family pic" of Shaun, Em, and myself. It's not the greatest- please ignore my puffy preggo-ness- but at least we've got one!
-Went to my first Scrap Etc. Inspiration Team meeting! It ROCKED! Met with Monique (& her husband Jeremiah), Tonya, Adrienne, Katie, Raunda, & Christine, a few of the oh-so-talented people behind Scrap Etc. Got to hear all sorts of cool stuff about CHA and things in the works for the store, as well as the Big Event in April.... also got my first batch of stuff to work on for layouts & projects! I'm PLAYING tonight!

-Got my head shot done for the Scrap Etc. website... can't wait to be able to share!

-Learned how to hem pants. Tomorrow: tackling making one of those bucket things I mentioned a few posts down. Got the cutes green, pink, & chocolate fabric for making them.

-Finally got to meet Adrienne and shared some yummy Starbucks with her. She is so fun to talk to and be around! (But you probably already figured that out, if you read her blog! LOL)

-Watched this hilarious (and REAL) preview for Scrapped, the movie.

Ok, gotta stop procrastinating and fold this laundry.

Ugh.
