hee!
Some of you may know I am very easily amused.

It doesn't take much to make me giggle.

Corny jokes? Bring 'em on. I love 'em.

So a friend sent me this today, and it made me laugh, so I thought I'd share. Probably not the most sophisticated joke in the world, but it is silly. :)

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.
Finally fed up, God said, "THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job."
So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.
They moused.
They faxed.
They e-mailed.
They e-mailed with attachments.
They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!
They wrote reports.
They created labels and cards.
They created charts and graphs.
They did some genealogy reports
They did every job known to man.
Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell. Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off.
Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.
Jesus just sighed.
Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming: "It's gone! It's all GONE! I lost everything when the power went out!"
Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate. "Wait!" he screamed. "That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any?"
God just shrugged and said,
JESUS SAVES

I'm alive, I promise! :)
I promise I'm still around; just haven't had a lot to say... or rather, a lot to say to the general public, ya know?

We've had some grief in our church family... a dear, sweet guy (husband and dad to two teens) went on to heaven about two weeks ago. There have been a lot of thoughts & emotions going through my head about it, but I felt like the family needed their privacy and I didn't want to put everything out there. Needless to say, grief is a tough thing, and I am so glad that we do have the comfort that those who know Jesus Christ as their Savior go on to a place of peace and joy.

In other news, I feel like I've gotten my creative juices flowing as a result of kind of just introverting myself (I don't think that's a real phrase, but that's okay). ;) I've been creating stuff for Scrap Etc. & Crop Addict, and starting to work on Christmas gifts! (If I don't do it know, it's never going to get done!)

Along with that thought, I've also been thinking about Christmas a lot and planning for baby Sabriel. Right now, her birth still feels ages off, but I know it will fly by quickly, especially once the fall hits for real. The fall seems to have so many events & fun stuff happening in it; before you know it, the holidays will be upon us. I'm trying to do a lot of planning so we can enjoy those things without stress; at least, be prepared as much as we can. This will be our first Christmas morning as a family to spend it "just us" (we've always spent it with other family members!) so I'm trying to think of new traditions to incorporate... it's really weird for me to think about us being by ourselves Christmas morning. I want it to be special and fun! Any ideas you have for me, let me know! (And keep in mind that the kiddos are 2 and 1 ....)

My little sis has been visiting for a few days and, as usual, been a tremendous help. She has been helping me organize Em's room for Atticus' move into there, chasing & entertaining my kiddos, crawling into the creepy attic to get baby clothes down and store old clothes up there, and being an awesome help. She is such a huge blessing to our family. :)

Gotta run... spending some good chill out time and then getting back into this nesting urge I have already. My scrap area is calling me, but first it needs a good straightening! Hee hee

ETA I wanted to also add this, but I forgot to earlier. I saw this earlier this week; if you have 4 minutes, you need to watch this sweet wedding proposal. So artistic. So romantic. It'll make you tear up. Plus, it has Sigur Ros playing in the background, so it's gotta be cool, right?

In which I am stung and swell to the size of a balloon.

Sorry so long since my last post... I have been out of town for a couple of days to celebrate a belated birthday with my mom and to visit my Grams. It was intended to be a wee little vacay from regular life and a chance to just chill out.

Unfortunately, Mr. Hornet/Wasp/Yellow Jacket/Some Other Evil Type Bug with a Huge Stinger had different plans for me.

After being at Grams' a mere 24 hours, I had decided, after a messy dinner & dessert of birthday cake, to give the kiddos a bath in the kiddie swimming pool in the backyard. Redneck? Yes, a wee bit. But it was fun and practical- all in one rolled up mess.

So anyways, I'm sitting watching my son wander around the yard with glee, and all of a sudden I feel a big ol' pinch on the bottom of my foot. Within seconds I'm blinded by pain (no, I'm not exaggerating) and can barely focus on anything else. It seriously felt as painful as some of my labor contractions- that mind numbing, grip your seat, grit your teeth, and bite back ugly words that you might regret later type of pain.

My hero/cousin Shawn (not to be confused with my husband, ShaUn - I might be Southern enough to bathe my kids in the backyard, but not enough to marry my cousin) helped me hobble in while my sis corralled the kids and got them bundled inside. Within an hour, my foot had swelled to an unreasonable size, I had incredibly itchy hives all over, and was finding it difficult to breathe (probably partially due to panic, but also due to the fact that my face was looking very puffy and my lips appeared to have just returned from a trip with a collagen injecting needle).

After several doses of benadryl, here I am, a few days later, fine and dandy but without that lovely little check-out from reality that I was hoping for. And in case you're wondering, I've never quite had that reaction from a sting before, so it was a bit of a surprise for me.

Fun times.

Oh, and little Sabriel (yes, Molly, you were right about the name! I'll be sending a prize your way!) is quite fine and none the worse for the wear... other than having one freaked-out mommy.

(Little dude tuckered out after shopping. So sweet.)

And this picture has nothing to do with the others, I just thought it was funny... because my daughter is wearing her baby brother's shirt. (And shorts - backwards - and flip flops). What a nut.

Ultrasound
We got to go see our little on in utero yesterday... always such an amazing experience. Our doctor's office had added a new feature (since last year, when I was there... hehe) of a big flat screen tv in the ultrasound room, so we got to see Baby #3 on that- lots of detail. Our tech was great at letting us see the baby and just watch for a little bit. AND our OB now gives us DVDs of our ultrasound, so we can re-watch it whenever we want. Pretty cool.

So I know for those reading, y'all could care less about all that and more about what our results were.... so here ya go.

We are naming her Sabriel (that's with a short "a" sound, like apple)... and yes, it's another literary name. If you can tell me the name of the author of the book that her name comes from - WITHOUT doing any sort of internet search, I will send you a prize! ;)

(And if no one knows off of the top of their head- I'll pick a random person.) :)
