HoF Layouts
Ok, here's the first five Hall of Fame layouts that I've posted... I'll upload more tomorrow. This girl is SLEEPY! ;)

Bathtime Girl

Marli & Her Daddy
Well, in case you are all wondering (because I know you just sit there in your home, gazing out the window, imagining my exciting life) ;) ---

no, I did not get a call for CK's 2006 Hall of Fame.

It actually kinda depressed me, and I felt a little silly about that. I mean, I knew that I pretty much had a snowball's chance in you-know-where, but there's still that little teensy part of you that hopes. I mean, I wouldn't enter unless I didn't think I had some sort of chance, right?

But oh well. Such is life, right? I'm actually really glad I did it. It totally stretched me as a scrapbooker. Normally when I scrap, my process is to sit down, pull out some photos that inspire me, select some papers, and create away until it "look right." Then it's done.

With my HoF entries, I labored over them. I'd work on them, set them aside, come back a few days later, make adjustments, add stuff, take away... and do the process again several times. Very different for me.

I guess that's, in some way, why it's hard to deal with why the peeps at CK didn't love them... because it's like rejecting a part of me. I worked so much on them; I love them.

And I still do. :)

I'm in the process of finally being able to share them with everyone... I'm working on uploading them to 2peas & and once I get them all up, I'll share the links here.

Thanks to everyone who encouraged me and cheered me on along the way- it's helped a lot. I feel like I've evolved even more as a scrapper through this process.

A few exciting things from my week:
opened up their NEW gallery & message board this week and it ROCKS! Be watching for the grand opening of their online store this Monday! Woohoo! (Lots of free stuff & contests going on over there- come check it out!)
-I hit the 7 week mark. As in, 7 weeks 'til my due date. As in, 7 weeks 'til my fragile life as I know it changes- again. As in, 7 weeks 'til I get to snuggle my sweet little boy.
-I received several sweet emails & praises on layouts that I'd posted on 2peas, from complete strangers, from scrapbookers I really admire, from dear friends. :) Made my day.
-I made the invitations for Emerson's first birthday... so hard to believe that in 2 weeks, our little baby girl won't quite be a baby anymore.
-We went house hunting for the first time. Very eye-opening and interesting and fun. Can't wait to see more and hopefully start making offers. :)
-I got to meet my brother's fiance; so wonderful to see him in love with someone that is so perfect for him.

While I'm waiting for it to dry...
I thought I'd share what I made for Emerson today. (Heidi Swapp foam stamps, fabric paint, & my own designs that look remarkably like rip-offs of Heidi Swapp's designs).
this is what happens...

...when i've been reading adrienne's blog and see her cool new scrap room

...when i get carried away until 1am

...when you give me a circle punch

...when a pregnant woman, 8 weeks away from her due date, is feeling the nesting urge

.... when I get carried away labeling & organizing.

{Now I've got to go through my drawers and sort through that stuff. And the photos, which didn't get touched last night!}

warning: complete rambling post
I am procrastinating cleaning up my scrap space. I am so afraid of what's under that pile! Hee hee

I have a huge pile of stuff on my desk that is the result of too many lazy nights. Not only do I have a bunch of scrapping stuff to put away, I have 2 towering stacks of photos that really need to be sorted and labeled so I can figure out what the heck I'm doing next time I do go to scrap something... which should hopefully be soon. I went to Scrap Etc. this week and got some new Basic Grey stuff (which I love) and some very cool Fancy Pants chipboard flowers (which I am hoping to alter this weekend). Fun stuff to play with.

This week is looking to be a full one again... tomorrow Shaun is helping some friends of ours move into their new rockin' house (it was built in the '40's - I think - and is very cool & full of character. Just what I love in a house!) and I"m hopefully going to just chill out at home and give the ol' preggo body a rest. THEN it's beauty shop time; I'm going to give my aunt highlights. She will then probably kick my butt playing scrabble or some such thing. ;) We have a tour of the hospital on Tuesday (so I can figure out where to go when Atticus finally arrives), I have a doctor's appt. for a check up on Thursday, my brother's fiance` is going to be in town and I'm going to hang out with them (and hopefully take some pics of them together!) and I'm sure there's probably several other things that will be going on next week. YIKES!

Oh, and did I mention that we want to start looking for a new home?

(Not to even touch on the fact that next week is Hall of Fame calls week! ACK!)

Sooo.... guess I'd better go do some therepeutic cleaning of the ol' scrap desk.

just sharing...

A little altered heart I made last night. (Sorry the picture isn't too great!)

I'm trying to keep my mind off of the fact that the Hall of Fame calls are due between now and next Wednesday. I know in my heart of hearts that I do not have a chance against some of the amazing talent that has entered... but I won't lie and say that there isn't also that teensy part of me that is hoping against hope that I'll get a call from the 801 area code... oh Lisa B., please call me! ;)

By the way...
You can see my Scrap Etc. gallery HERE.

I have several altered objects & mini albums up at the store too, which I need to take pics of (they are too bulky to scan!).
My scunchie
I have this weird little nickname for Emerson that evolved within a few days after she was born.

It's "Scunchie."

I think it's a combination of "scrunched up" and "snuggly" , but I"m not positive about that.

Anyways, whenever she's being especially cute (all of the time, pretty much- wink, wink) or snuggly, the ol' Scunchie gets pulled out.

She's definitely being a Scunchie here. :)
